Dropbox is a file hosting service that allows you to share your files with multiple devices instantly. Users create an account with www.dropbox.com which then allows you to creates a Dropbox folder on your computer. This folder is then synchronized with any device that contains the Dropbox client or app. Any document, slideshow, photo, etc. placed in your Dropbox will automatically appear on your other devices when you are connected to the Internet. Files can also be retrieved through the Dropbox website. Here is a short video explaining how Dropbox works.
Files placed in Dropbox and opened on the iPad can then be sent to other applications such as GoodReader. (While dropbox can be used to read documents, it does not allow for annotation, drawing, or marking). Files within Dropbox are organized in alphabetic order. Files can also be organized into folders. Dropbox is a great way to back up important files.
